With a proper flame cannon build, nothing in the latter stages gets close to you because literally everything on the screen is on fire; spewing more flame bullets when they die.

Cataclysm: Dark Days Ahead. It's more of a zombie survival game, but boasts probably THE most detailed and robust crafting system amongst roguelikes; has mods that replicate magic and necromancy; and has plenty of medieval / fantasy weaponry to use if one wishes to go that route. Includes things like trying to manage your own camp of survivors and jousting on bicyles, and building your own vehicular death fortress with sawblade guns or catapults on it.
* At present (at least on the windows version) sticks merge into stacks of exactly 1. Making it impossible to craft anything requiring more than one stick.
* It's a little clumsy using the mouse wheel to scroll up and down in game windows. Don't suppose it might be possible to add a keyboard shortcut for scrolling?
